The Punishment for Illegal Stay in China
The expiration of Visa/Residence Permit（RP） or accommodation record or having no accommodation record are violating Chinese related laws and staying in China illegally. Those who stay in China illegally will be severely punished by the public security organizations according to the seriousness of the circumstances, including a warning, a fine of 500-500 yuan, detention or even deportation. Hence international students must pay attention to visa/accommodation record in case of unnecessary trouble.
